Mothers' Day is fast approaching. It's origins lie in the days when daughters were only given a few days off a year and were allowed to go home to see their mothers one Sunday a year. Traditionally they took a Simnel cake.
My daughter's school has a great relationship with a local florist that takes in pots of flower plants and bunches of flowers for the children to buy for their mothers. Dads are regularly in on the secret, but the duty of choosing the flowers is left to the children.
What if you are far from home this year? How can you still make contact with your mother and let her know how much you appreciate her? The traditional way is to send flowers. It is really easy to send flowers online these days. Many florists offer product pictures of the bunches of flowers that you can choose from, pricing is simple and easy to understand and all you need is a credit card to send your mum a treat that she will really enjoy.
What kind of flowers you send is up to you. Spring flowers such as daffodils and tulips always brighten up a home and come in a variety of colours. The addition of roses for their perfume will always add beauty to a bunch. Carnations with their round rosette flowers will complement any bunch of flowers and again come in a variety of colours. Perhaps your mother has a favourite flower that she would appreciate.
You can send flowers in their own individual vases or in water packs which mean that your mother does not need to find a vase. They can just be displayed as they are. Some mothers enjoy rearranging bouquets of flowers and filling vases from a bunch.
A bunch of flowers will always be an appreciated present on Mothers' Day, so do make your mothers' day and send her flowers.
